RULES FOR THE
“EARN WHILE YOU LEARN”
BIBLE WRITING CHALLENGE
OVERVIEW OF THE CHALLENGE
- The name of the challenge will be “Earn While You Learn" Bible Writing Challenge.
- There is no cost to participate in this challenge.
- The challenge is sponsored by Scriptoriums.com, a ministry of Lighthouse Christian Ministries (www.LighthouseChristianMinistries.org), a 501(c)3 organization. The staff of Scriptoriums.com reserves the right to make decisions regarding the program and to modify the rules of the challenge, provided that the initial reward offering is fully met. The Scriptoriums.com staff will address any questions.
- The goal of the challenge is to encourage Scripture writing and meditation.
- The basis for this challenge is Deuteronomy 17:18, which instructs the kings of Israel to write a copy of God's law.
Deuteronomy 17:18 - “And when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, he shall write for himself in a book a copy of this law, approved by the Levitical priests. And it shall be with him, and he shall read in it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear the LORD his God by keeping all the words of this law and these statutes, and doing them, that his heart may not be lifted up above his brothers, and that he may not turn aside from the commandment, either to the right hand or to the left, so that he may continue long in his kingdom, he and his children, in Israel. - Registration for the challenge will begin on December 31, 2025, and end at midnight on January 15, 2026.
- The challenge will begin on December 31, 2025.
- The challenge consists of writing the Bible passages from the 2026 Conway Scriptorium.
- A reward of $60 will be earned for writing out each of the passages from the 2026 Conway Scriptorium. These passages can be found here.
- You must register before January 15th to participate in this challenge, as there are deadlines to meet along the way.
- Once registered, you will see a confirmation screen. You may begin writing out your passages once you see this confirmation. If you receive an error message, please contact us.
- The entire list of Bible passages must be written out to earn the reward by the deadlines shown below. Completing only some of the passages will not qualify for the reward.
- Passages must be written out in the order they are listed to meet the deadlines. Again, these passages can be found here.
- You may write the passages in a notebook or use loose-leaf paper. You may also use a book designed for writing Scripture. Give some thought to your finished writing project to ensure you have a nice copy when you are done. Here is a link to Journibles if you are interested. However, you can write your copy in any format you like.
- When you have completed the project, you will have a wonderful overview of the Life of Jesus Christ from both the Old and New Testaments for future reference.
ELIGIBILITY AND REGISTRATION
- Anyone residing in the USA, regardless of age, is eligible to register and earn rewards.
- Registration is limited for the initial challenge to the first 30 people who register at Scriptoriums.com.
- The staff of Scriptoriums.com may also add additional registrants above 30 after assessing the number of additional requests. Such additions to the number of registrants are based solely on the decision of the staff of Scriptoriums.com.
- The approved translations for the challenge are as follows: KJV, NKJV, NASB, ESV, LSB, NLT, and CSB. If you prefer another translation, that must be approved BEFORE you begin writing. Paraphrases are not allowed.
- Once a section of passages is completed, a Progress Form must be submitted online with verification photos by the stated deadline.
- Taxes are the sole responsibility of the person earning a reward. Any person who receives cash rewards totaling more than $2,00 in a calendar year (from all earned rewards) will receive a Form 1099-MISC from Lighthouse Christian Ministries. However, any earnings over $600 from an individual/business in a tax year are still taxable.
EARNING THE REWARD
- A cash reward of $60 will be awarded to each registered person who completes writing out the entire passages from the 2026 Conway Scriptorium. The reward is approximately $4 per 1,000 words written.
- The deadline to complete the writing challenge is April 16, 2026, at midnight.
- There are also monthly deadlines that need to be met to earn the reward. This ensures the writing is intentional and consistent throughout the challenge.
- The deadline for writing each section is as follows: 1) John 1:1-5 to John 4:1-26, January 31, 2026; 2) John 4:27-44 to Matthew 20:20-28, February 28; 3) Matthew 21:1-11 to John 19:17-27, March 31, 2026; 4) Matthew 27:45-56 to Revelation 20:12-21, April 16, 2026.
- By each deadline, submit a Progress Form with three pictures of your writing to verify completion. Missing any deadlines will end your participation in the challenge.
- An email reminder will be sent a few days before each deadline to any participant who has not submitted their writing.
- You can work ahead on this project. You do not need to limit yourself to the passages listed by month. Working ahead is helpful in case unexpected challenges arise.
- Once you have completed the writing challenge, complete the Earnings Form by midnight on April 16, 2025, to receive your reward. The form MUST be completed by this time to earn your reward. An email reminder will be sent once you complete the challenge with a link to the Earnings Form.
- The reward will be sent via check, Zelle, or Cash App, whichever method is selected on the reward form after the reward is earned. Those choosing Zelle or Cash App must enter their payment name for the selected method.
- The verification of your writing must be confirmed by the staff of Scriptoriums.com before the reward check will be sent.
- A progress form must be completed every two weeks for accountability and encouragement to each participant. The form will be online and will take less than five minutes to complete.
- Books must be written starting from the date of the registration. Any books written before the challenge began will not earn a reward.
- We hope to have a chart listed on the website soon showing the rewards for each book written based on the translation. Thank you for your patience.
A WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT
For a person to write out the entire New Testament, along with Psalms and Proverbs, would take approximately 228 hours on average. A calendar year has 260 weekdays. If a person were to spend about 53 minutes per day every weekday writing out the Bible, they would finish in one year.
FINAL COMMENTS
Our family’s goal is to glorify God in all we do. When we started the Scriptoriums.com website in 2015, our desire was to see the Word of God memorized by many people. We are thankful for the many Scriptorium events we have helped organize across the country to reach that goal. We are still continuing this effort going forward. Scriptorium events were started by Scripture Memory Fellowship in 2006. Contrary to false rumors some have started to destroy this ministry, we have not changed our name or our purpose. Our desire is to keep this work going forward.
This writing challenge is a new idea, and we hope it is a blessing to many to encourage the writing out and meditation on God’s Word. Please be understanding as issues may arise during the challenge. We seek to be just in our decisions according to the Word of God. If you have a question or see an issue with these rules, please let us know. We welcome your feedback.

Thank you for participating!
May Christ be Magnified!
