RULES FOR THE

“EARN WHILE YOU LEARN”
 BIBLE MEMORY CHALLENGE

OVERVIEW OF THE CHALLENGE


  1. The challenge will be named “Earn While You Learn.”
  2. There is no cost to participate in this challenge.
  3. The challenge is sponsored by Scriptoriums.com. The staff of Scriptoriums.com reserves the right to make decisions regarding the program and to modify the rules of the challenge, provided that the initial reward offering is fully met. The Scriptoriums.com staff will address any questions that arise, and their decision is final.
  4. The goal of the challenge is to encourage Scripture memory and meditation.
  5. Registration for the challenge will begin on December 30, 2025, and end at midnight on January 15, 2026. Even though the challenge officially begins on January 1, you can still sign up until January 15, 2025. You can begin memorizing immediately upon signing up.
  6. The challenge will officially begin on January 1, 2026, and end at midnight on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
  7. The challenge consists of three parts. 1) Memorizing four passages of Scripture. Each month, you must memorize the assigned passage. January: Psalm 22:1-31, February: Matthew 27:32-56, March: John 19:16-37, April: Luke 23:32-49. 2) Send in a progress form each month by the end of the month, or the 16th of April, along with a video of yourself reciting the passage with the allowed number of errors (see below).  3) Complete the Reward form by the end of April to claim your reward.


ELIGIBILITY AND REGISTRATION


  1. Anyone residing in the USA, regardless of age, is eligible to register and earn rewards.
  2. Registration for the initial challenge is limited to the first 20 people who register at Scriptoriums.com.
  3. The staff of Scriptoriums.com may also add additional registrants above 20 after assessing the number of additional requests.  Such increases in the number of registrants are based solely on the decision of Scriptoriums.com staff.
  4. The approved translations for the challenge are as follows: KJV, NKJV, NASB, ESV, CSB, LSB, NLT, and the 1984 NIV.


EARNING THE REWARD


  1. Each registered participant will receive a $40 cash reward upon successfully memorizing the four passages and submitting a progress form and video by the deadlines below.  You must memorize all four passages to earn a reward. 
  2. Psalm 22:1-31 - January 31, 2026
  3. Matthew 27:32-56 - February 28, 2026
  4. John 19:16-37 - March 31, 2026
  5. Luke 23:32-49 - April 16, 2026
  6. All passages must be completed by the deadline each month at midnight to be eligible for a reward.
  7. The reward will be sent via check, Zelle, or Cash App, whichever method is selected on the reward form after the reward is earned.
  8. While the goal for the each passage is zero errors, we understand that error do occur. Therefore, you are allowed one error for every seven verses. January=4 errors, February= 3 errors, March=3 errors, April= 2 errors. If your recording exceeds the allowed number of errors, you may redo it as many times as needed. Only submit recordings that are within the allowable number of errors.
  9. Each passage is to be recited in one sitting. For example, you cannot quote verses 1-20, take a break, and then quote verses 21-31 later.
  10. Before the deadline each month, you will go online to Scriptoriums.com and complete a progress form showing that you have completed the passage for that month. You will also submit a video recording of your passage being recited from memory.
  11. At the completion of the challenge, you will be reminded to fill out the earnings form to receive your cash reward. We will also send out a reminder a few days before the deadline if you have not submitted your recording.
  12. You MAY work ahead and submit your recordings anytime before the deadline. For example, you could submit two passages in January if you have both passages memorized.
  13. Any rewards totaling $600 or more will require a Form 1099-MISC, which will be sent to the IRS. You will be responsible for any taxes on earnings of $600 or more in a calendar year.

FINAL COMMENTS


Our family’s goal is to magnify Christ in all we do. When we launched Scriptoriums.com in 2015, our goal was to encourage many people to memorize the Word of God. We are thankful for the many Scriptorium events we have helped organize across the country to reach that goal. We are still continuing this effort going forward. Scriptorium events were started by Scripture Memory Fellowship in 2006. We have not changed our name or our purpose, despite an attempt by others to destroy this ministry. Our goal is to keep encouraging others in the Word of God. Thank you for participating in our events and challenges.
