OVERVIEW OF THE CHALLENGE

1. The name of the challenge will be “Earn While You Learn.”
2. There is no cost to participate in this challenge.
3. The challenge is sponsored by Scriptoriums.com. The staff of Scriptoriums.com reserves the right to make decisions regarding the program as well as to modify the rules of the challenge, as long as the initial offering of rewards is fully met. Any questions that arise will be decided by the staff of Scriptoriums.com.
4. The goal of the challenge is to encourage Scripture memory and meditation.
5. Registration for the challenge will begin on December 17, 2023, and end at midnight on December 31, 2023. EXTENDED!
6. The challenge will begin on January 1, 2024, and end at midnight on April 14, 2024.
7. The challenge consists of three parts. 1) Memorizing the entire book of Hebrews 2) Completing a weekly study sheet                3) Reciting the entire book of Hebrews before April 14, 2024.

ELIGIBILITY AND REGISTRATION

1. Anyone residing in the USA, regardless of age, is eligible to register and earn rewards. Registration for those outside of the USA is subject to approval from the staff at Scriptoriums.com. Those residing outside the USA would need to have a recommendation from an approved USA citizen. Rewards for those outside of the USA would be distributed to the approved USA citizen for distribution to the participant.
2. Registration is limited for the initial challenge to the first 25 people who register at Scriptoriums.com.
3. The staff of Scriptoriums.com may also add additional registrants above 25 after assessing the number of additional requests.  Such additions to the number of registrants is based solely on the decision of the staff of Scriptoriums.com.
4. The approved translations for the challenge are as follows: KJV, NKJV, NASB, ESV and NIV. While many people use Paraphrases such as The Living Bible (TLB) and the New Living Translation (NLT) and The Message (MSG), these are not acceptable for the challenge. If you use a different translation from one of the approved five translations listed above, prior approval is needed to earn rewards.

EARNING THE REWARD

1. A cash reward of $50 will be sent to each person registered who completes the challenge.
2. The reward will be sent in the form of a check to the home address provided during registration.
3. To earn the reward, the participant must memorize the entire book of Hebrews, one chapter at a time and complete a weekly study sheet.
4. The participant will complete a weekly study sheet online with basic questions from the chapter they memorized. The study sheet will also ask whether the participant recited the chapter to a friend or relative during the week.
5. Study sheets will be posted online each Monday morning by 8 a.m. The study sheet should be completed and submitted by the following Sunday evening.
6. The first study sheet will be posted on January 1, 2024. The second will be posted on January 8, 2024 and so on.
7. A participant who falls behind in memory work or completing the study sheet will still be able to earn the reward if they are able to catch up before the program ends on April 14, 2024. They would simply need to complete the study sheets and recite the chapters in the following weeks.
8. While the goal for the memory work is no errors, we understand that errors do occur despite the carefulness one puts into memorizing a passage. Therefore, for each 7 verses quoted (or portion thereof) 1 error is allowed. For example, Hebrews 1 has 14 verses, therefore 2 errors would be allowed in chapter 1. Hebrews 11 has 40 verses, therefore 6 errors would be allowed in chapter 11.
9. If you have already memorized the book of Hebrews, you are still able to earn the reward if you follow these guidelines and submit your weekly study sheet and recite your verses each week. Past recitations do not count toward this challenge.
10. If you quote the chapter and have more than the allowed errors, simply review the chapter and recite it again to a friend or relative.
11. Each chapter is to be recited in one sitting. For example, you cannot quote verses 1-20 one day, then 21-40 the next day.
12. The study sheet is to be completed online each week. When you click the SUBMIT button from the webpage, your answers will be sent to Scriptoriums.com.
13. At the completion of the challenge, you will be reminded to fill out the earnings form and your $50 cash reward will be sent to your home address in the form of a check.

BONUS REWARDS EARNED AT THE CONWAY SCRIPTORIUM

1. If you complete the challenge by submitting your weekly study sheets and reciting the entire book during the challenge, you will also have the opportunity to double your reward by attending the Conway Scriptorium.
2. To double your reward, attend the Conway Scriptorium in Conway, Arkansas on April 12, 2024 - April 13, 2024 and recite the book of Hebrews in 3 separate sittings: 1-5, 6-10, 11-13. This allows a break in your recitations. Quoting the entire book should take about 45 minutes total (15 x 3).
3. In addition, those attending the Conway Scriptorium will have the opportunity to earn additional prizes by taking a 20-30 minute test over the book of Hebrews during the event weekend.
4. Additional prize money will be rewarded as follows:
5. 1st Place - $100
6. 2nd Place - $75
7. 3rd Place - $50
8. 4th Place - $25
9. In the case of a tie for any place, the money will be divided equally between those who tie. For example, if there is a three way tie for 1st place, the money from 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, will be added together and divided by 3. In this example, each person who tied for 1st would receive $75 and the 4th place would still receive $25.
10. Only those attending the Conway Scriptorium are eligible to win the additional rewards.
11. The participant who completes the challenge online, recites the book of Hebrews at the Conway Scriptorium, and wins 1st place in test will earn a total of $200.
    

FINAL COMMENTS

Our family’s goal is to glorify God in all we do. When we started the Scriptoriums.com website in 2015, our desire was to see the Word of God memorized by many people. We are thankful for the many Scriptorium events we have helped organize across the country to reach that goal. We are still continuing this effort going forward. Scriptorium events were started by Scripture Memory Fellowship in 2006. We have not changed our name or our purpose. Our desire is to keep this work going forward.

This challenge is a new idea, and we hope it is a blessing to many to encourage the memorization and retention of God’s Word. Please be understanding as issues may arise during the challenge.
